(AZ) A 30-year-old Egyptian engineer with a sporty appearance, with a cynical smile mixed with confusion says: "After our marriage, the bride prepared a table full of barbecues, but went mad when she left making her hands to look for a boiled egg and a piece of cheese, and wrote on Facebook" I married one "I am not a normal being, I am an ordinary man and successful in my working life and my marital relationship, and I do not complain of any physical or psychological symptoms."

We asked him why, he said, "I was created like this, I can't see animals and birds slaughtered and hanging in the markets and dripping blood, I don't like seeing blood."

So our talker is not a space being, but just a "vegetarian", why is it a "vegetarian" concern, even though it is a diet followed by millions around the world?

Botanical lifestyle
"Vegetarian" is a diet based on fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes without eating meat, and vegetarians are divided into several sections; the most common two main sections: the first is the "Vegetarian" (Vegetarian), who abstain from meat only, but they eat fish and animal products such as eggs and dairy products . The second is the hard-line vegetarians, who rely on plants only, and do not eat anything from animals or dairy products.

In addition to two other sub-sections, the vegetarian diet as a plant-based diet. A raw diet means eating only raw vegetables and fruits.

With more people interested in healthy, plant-based food, with the growth of the vegetable industry and the multiplicity of vegetarian cookbooks, vegetarianism has become the most prevalent diet in the world.

Spread of plant life
Vegetarian diets have become a new trend followed by millions; in the United States the percentage of vegetarians increased 600% in three years, in Britain became vegetarians 7% of the population, in Germany, the number of eight hundred thousand vegetarians, and continues to increase, and this includes countries such as: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and India, which is 27% vegetarian, according to Forbes magazine.

Major cities are also shopping themselves for tourists through the spread of restaurants serving vegetarian meals from around the world.

In London, which is the world's No. 1 provider of vegetarian food in restaurants, cafeterias and street carts, there are festivals and botanical markets throughout the year.

In New York, as well as other major American cities, restaurants with vegetarian burgers and vegetarian pizza alternatives are common. In the Polish capital of Warsaw, the visitor is only a mile away from the nearest vegetarian restaurant, and Lebanese and Turkish restaurants compete there to provide vegetarian kebabs and falafel.

In Canada, the city of Toronto is characterized by vegetarian cuisine offered by several restaurants, and in the Czech capital Prague varied vegetarian cuisine that make it an attractive city for botanical tourism. Paris, whose traditional restaurant relies on meat and fish, has joined international cities attracting vegetarian tourists.

Reasons to switch to vegetarianism
Some people turn to a vegetarian diet for reasons of alleviating animal suffering and not taking over the milk of their young, but the most important reasons may be the desire for good health, especially heart health.

The results of a Harvard study revealed a 25 percent lower risk of heart disease in people who eat a healthy vegetarian diet. In addition to the fear of diseases caused by cows injected with antibiotics and hormones, infection of salmonella transmitted by chickens, and toxic mercury that may contain some fish.

A group of vegetarians also have environmental motives, with the aim of contributing to the preservation of the environment by reducing the level of carbon emissions and toxic gases in the air, where evidence indicates that the climate is affected by the food choices of the population. Exhausting two cars, so giving up meat consumption could cut gas emissions by almost 60%, according to the BBC.

Recoil for vegetarianism
A study of American dietary habits revealed that 87% of those who decide to become vegetarians return to eating meat again for several reasons, including: the usual taste of meat, because it is linked to human habits and strong memory towards eating foods and flavors. And not to find a similar taste in vegetarian food, no matter how similar flavor with meals prepared from meat. In addition to not giving the body the food it requires, it often gives the body signals that it needs to eat high-fat food, and it is impossible to replace it with another vegetarian.

Low weight and fatigue, because the transition to vegetation causes shock to the body and a shortage of calories. Finally, the cost is high because of the overpricing of vegetarian restaurants. Green mushrooms in the vegetarian system exceed the price of 100 grams, including $ 10, a sum that buys a meal for two from a fast food restaurant.

The other opinion is in vegetarianism
A study conducted by a team of scientists at the University of Grass, Austria, which included 1320 people, found that 14 serious chronic diseases spread among vegetarians more than among carnivores. For example, the proportion of allergic diseases among vegetarians is 30.6 versus 16.7% in carnivores.

Cancer diseases are 4.8 against 1.8%. Heart clots were 1.5 to 0.6%. The rate of mental illnesses, especially depression, rises to 9.4 versus 4.5% in ordinary people.
