According to a member of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, Crimean Senator Sergei Tsekov, such a promise from Kiev is just a “hackneyed phrase”.

“Such a standard answer. What exactly they will do - they cannot say and cannot offer anything. In principle, they are no longer able to influence the development of Crimea in any way, ”the parliamentarian emphasized.

As noted by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Alexei Chepa, the Crimean Bridge does not cause any environmental harm.

“The bridge was built absolutely rightfully, because Crimea is Russian land, based on a referendum held in 2014, when almost the entire population of Crimea voted to reunite with Russia,” he concluded.

Earlier, Korinevich promised that Kiev would respond to Russia's launch of rail traffic on the Crimean bridge.

He added that the Crimean bridge “was built illegally” and “causes some environmental damage” to the region.

Crimea became the Russian region after the 2014 referendum, in which the majority of the peninsula's people supported reunification with Russia.
