Scottish justice has ruled that Boris Johnson's decision to temporarily suspend the British Parliament is "illegal." The decision annuls an earlier pronouncement of the Edinburgh Court of Sessions that proved the British premier right.
This decision on appeal responds to a lawsuit by 75 British deputies who argued that the closure of Westminster was illegal and contrary to the Constitution, since it meant silencing parliamentarians within a few weeks of the date set for Brexit on October 31.
The decision of the Scottish Court of Appeals can be appealed to the British Supreme Court, which will have the last word and has already announced an emergency hearing on the matter on September 17.
