The number of printed weight covers is increasing in Värmland

The number of printed blankets increased by 269 in 2019 compared with the year before.

The region will now review the regulations on how prescriptions should be made.

"The guidelines are a little unclear," says aids consultant Birgitta Bjerre.

Over the past five years, 4375 gravity blankets have been printed in Värmland and now you can no longer keep your budget.

- It is important to look at socio-economic and health-promoting aspects. There may be increased costs for the weight covers, but reduced costs for medicines, says occupational therapist Nina Urelid.

In some regions, the blankets do not print at all because they feel that there is no evidence that the blankets work.
