On Monday, it became clear that the company Swerock is allowed to conduct rock quarries at Engaholm in Alvesta municipality. Växjö Municipality now appeals the decision to the Land and Environmental Court. As a reason, the municipality states, among other things, that they were not allowed to be involved in the consultation process.
The municipality also believes that the increased traffic that the quake will lead to will have consequences for existing school operations, but also for a planned preschool in Gemla.
- Gemla is one of the growth areas in the municipality of Växjö and we believe that the lack of an impact assessment for the local residents and community development is worrying, says Anna Tenje (M), chair of the local council.
A formal appeal will be written together and sent when the administrative officer in the municipality has gone through the Environmental Review Delegation's decision in detail.
