Yesterday, Thursday, Iraqi security forces arrested the mufti of the "ISIS" organization known as "Abi Abdul Bari" on the right side of Mosul, where they carried out executions, especially for clerics, in addition to the bombing of the Prophet Yunis mosque during the terrorist organization's takeover of the city in 2014.

Activists have published pictures of "Abu Abdel-Bari" that appear to be very obese, including a picture showing his transport in a large truck and surrounded by a number of members of the security forces.

The Security Media Cell said in a statement that the Swat regiment of the Nineveh Police Command managed to arrest "an official in what is known as Sharia and the well-known Mufti of ISIS (Shifa al-Neama) (Abu Abd al-Bari)".

She added that the detainee was working as an imam and preacher "in a number of the city's mosques, known for his provocative speeches against the security forces," adding that he was "inciting ISIS affiliation and allegiance, and educating extremist extremist ideology during the period of ISIS's control of the city of Mosul."

The statement indicated that "Abu Abdul Bari is considered one of the leaders of the first row of ISIS gangs, and he is responsible for issuing fatwas on the execution of a number of scholars and clerics who refrained from pledging allegiance to ISIS."

He is also "responsible for issuing a fatwa to bomb the historic Archaeological Mosque of Nabi Yunis during 2014, and the mosque has a special status with the people of Mosul, and he was arrested in the (Mansour neighborhood) area on the right side of the city of Mosul."
