The Ministry of Interior stressed that it is mandatory for community members to report cases of abuse and child abuse to the competent authorities, as UAE law is required to report if they suspect or know that any child has been subjected to physical assault, sexual abuse and exploitation, emotional and psychological abuse, or the child's exposure For ostracism, neglect or homelessness.

The Ministry stressed that reporting must be done in the event that children are used to beg or economic and financial benefits, warning that depriving the child of his legally guaranteed rights, such as the right to education, health care, and strong moral development, obliges those who testify or know about it to inform the relevant legal authorities, and this is the purpose of the existence of The Child Protection Hotline and the “My Protection” application, which was launched by the Ministry of the Interior to communicate with members of society in all its categories, which is one of the methods that enhance child protection, and is used to report any suspicions of child abuse at the state level.

She noted that the hotline and the smart application work to protect the child 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and anyone can report any issue of child abuse through the two channels.

The Child Protection Center at the Ministry of Interior affirmed that it immediately provides advice and support to those who report suspected cases of child abuse or neglect, and takes the necessary measures in this framework, with the aim of providing safety, security and protection for all children in the UAE.

She stressed that the safety and security of children is a top priority, as the UAE is an example and role model in the region in enhancing child protection and security, through measures to enhance the security and safety of our societies.

The Center called on the public not to publish videos, videos, or any recordings on the World Wide Web that include abuse of people, especially those related to child abuse, as it will be subject to legal liability.

The center pointed out that UAE law stipulates a violation of publishing material that includes abuse or defamation of people, or publishing any material that includes child abuse.

Article 44 of Law No. 3 of 2016 regarding the protection of the child, known as “Wadima”, stipulates that “The identity of the person reporting should not be disclosed except with his consent, and it is prohibited to reveal the identity of all parties to the incident and witnesses in cases of child abuse or ill-treatment, and that When using information in analyzes, media reports, or publishing all of his identifiable characteristics.

As for Article 45 of the law, it stipulates, “The concerned and competent authorities shall provide protection for witnesses at all stages of the criminal lawsuit,” while Article 49 stipulates that “the child protection specialist must notify the child’s parents or his caretaker, and the child who has reached the age of 13 years , Their right to reject the proposed measure against them. ”

"Wadima"

Article (36) of Law No. 3 of 2016 regarding the protection of the child known as “Wadima” states that “it is prohibited for the child to be subjected to torture or physical abuse, or to perform any act involving cruelty that affects the child’s emotional or psychological balance or Mental or moral ».
