Australian football recorded the first case of the Corona virus, after a positive result for a Newcastle Nets player was revealed in the local league today.
The identity of the player was not revealed, but he was a member of his team during the match that ended with a 2-1 victory over Melbourne City on Monday evening, behind closed doors, before the season was stopped due to "Covid-19" disease.
Newcastle Nets issued a statement saying: Newcastle Nets confirm that a player in the first team was a positive result of his examination.
He added: The player and his family are in good health, and he is currently in quarantine in line with the protocols taken in the state of New South Wales.
The club indicated that the team players monitor their health conditions, and that any of them will feel certain symptoms will isolate themselves.
Another case has been confirmed involving a member of the technical staff of the Wellington New Zealand club Phoenix Phoenix, who is participating in the Australian League.
The league, which includes 11 teams, continued to operate despite the Corona virus, before it stopped this week.
