The UAE Journalists Association (DPA) has called on the dean of journalists in the Kingdom of Bahrain, journalist Ali bin Abdullah Mubarak Sayyar, who passed away yesterday, after enriching the Bahraini and Arab press for six decades.

The Association extended its sincere condolences to the Bahrain Journalists Association, the family of the deceased, and the press family in Bahrain.

The Secretary General of the Association, Abdul Rahman Naqi Al Bastaki, said that «the Bahraini and Arab press has lost the writer and professor Ali Sayyar, at the age of 91 years, after a life full of stations, travel, and battles he was fighting for the advancement of civilization, political, cultural and social reform, which is one of The most prominent symbols of the Bahraini press, has held many positions in Her Majesty's circle, most notably the establishment of the newspaper (echo of the week) and newspaper (Gulf Mirror), and founded the newspaper (convoy) in the early fifties, and headed the editor of several local newspapers, such as weekly newspaper (convoy Between 1952 and 1954, b To add to the Al Watan newspaper that the head of liberation between 1955 and 1956 ».

Over the course of his career, Sayyar has been involved in local and Arab societal concerns, women's issues, politics, culture, thought and literature.He was a member of the Constituent Assembly that drafted Bahrain's first constitution in 1973, and received a number of awards for his great efforts in serving the press and journalists at the local and Arab levels.
