The Council of Ministers will foreseeably approve tomorrow the 0.9% increase in pensions for this year, a rise that remained in the air in the last Council of Ministers of 2019 pending the formation of the Government. According to Europe Press confirmed in sources aware of the rise, the first Council of Ministers of the new Government of Pedro Sánchez will fulfill its commitment to raise pensions by 0.9% this year.

On the other hand, what is not confirmed is that the Executive will approve the increase in the salary of public officials and workers . The former Minister of Finance, Cristóbal Montoro, closed a multiannual increase plan whereby public salaries should pick up at least 2%, a figure that could reach 3.85% depending on different -and unlikely- variables However, government sources do not confirm that this increase will be approved tomorrow, and union sources say they have not been informed that this best will be processed this Tuesday.

If so, the criticism of the union representatives of the officials would not wait, and the Executive would have to face this improvement in upcoming Councils of Ministers. Something similar will happen with the increase of the SMI, since the Government wants to process this measure in the short term . However, this action is not much less a closed measure, so it must be negotiated with social agents.
