Conference guests at the entrance to the building were greeted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and UN Secretary General Antoniu Guterres.
Earlier, Merkel and German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas met with the head of the Libyan national consent government Faiz Sarraj and the commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Marshal Khalifa Haftar.
The conference is attended by Haftar, Sarraj, Russian leader Vladimir Putin, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, representatives of Britain, France, China, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Congo, Italy, Egypt, Algeria, as well as several international organizations.
