On Wednesday, corresponding to 22/01/2020, the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates announced the issuance of a commemorative coin of silver on the occasion of choosing Sharjah as the world capital for the book 2019.

The commemorative coin will be offered for sale at the headquarters of the Central Bank and its branches, where the commemorative coin will be sold in silver, weighing 28 grams, at a price of (300) dirhams.

The Central Bank is proud to have chosen the International Committee of World Book Capitals at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Sharjah as the world capital of the book for 2019, as a tribute to the emirate's outstanding efforts in supporting the book and spreading the culture of reading, to become Sharjah the first Gulf city to obtain this title, and the third in the country The Arab and the Middle East.

It is worth noting that the Central Bank confirms its keenness to enhance its efforts aimed at immortalizing the important historical events that contribute to making the future of the Emirates through the issuance of commemorative coins.
