The TF1 group announced Thursday to have acquired from BeIN Sports broadcast rights of matches of the men's and women's handball championships between 2020 and 2024, for a total of 6 competitions.

The agreement, whose financial conditions have not been revealed, should allow TF1 to be "the exclusive broadcaster in clear, on each of the competitions, 3 matches of the Team of France during the phases of pool (Phase Preliminary and Main Tour) as well as the semi-finals and finals in case of participation of the Team de France, "said the group in a statement.

"All these matches will be co-broadcast by BeIN Sports," he added.

The 2020 European Men's Handball Championship will take place from 10 to 26 January in Sweden, Norway and Austria. The France team will face Norway, Portugal and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Preliminary Phase. The European Women's Handball Championship 2020 will take place in Norway and Denmark from 3 to 20 December 2020.

BeIN Sports was until now the exclusive broadcaster of the European Men's and Women's Handball Championships from 2020 to 2024, having acquired rights from Infront Sports, the agency mandated by the European Handball Federation (EHF). ).

In November 2018, TF1 had already announced that it had reached an agreement with BeIN Sport to broadcast several matches of the men's and women's world championships, from 2019 to 2025, for a total of 8 competitions.
