For ten consecutive months, from June 2019 to March 2020, temperatures have exceeded normal in France, unheard of according to Météo-France, which recalls that the continuous rise in temperatures has been accelerating since the beginning of the century.
"After a month of May 2019 cooler than normal, France is experiencing an uninterrupted series of warmer months than normal", that is to say the average calculated between 1981 and 2010, said Météo-France Wednesday in a communicated.

"It's a first in France," notes the French meteorological service. To establish this diagnosis, Météo-France is based on readings taken in thirty weather stations since 1900.
"In 2018 already, temperatures had remained exceptionally mild for nine consecutive months, from April to December," notes Météo-France. In 2017 and 2003, the year when the heat wave killed 15,000 people, "France had also experienced seven consecutive months warmer than normal".
This trend is linked to global warming, "measured by the continuous rise in temperatures, which has accelerated since the beginning of the 21st century".
