A tightrope walker defied gravity Friday for the Telethon, balancing on a wire stretched between two towers of the business district of La Defense, west of Paris, perched 150 m above the ground, noted AFP .
Nathan Paulin, 25, a highliner with several world records, was filmed during his feat by a drone as part of a show that will be broadcast on France Télévisions on December 6 and 7 for the Telethon.
Connected by a safety belt to the rope, it progresses on a "slackline" (soft strap) stretched between one of the towers of the Coeur Defense office complex and the CB21 tower, occupied notably by Suez and its subsidiaries, said a police source .
"An incredible performance" that will last until Saturday, say the organizers in a statement.
The professional tightrope rider progresses "at no less than 150 m in height, braving the gap on a strap 2.5 cm wide and 510 m long" and will make several crossings in a "totally secure" way, they specify.
"In a landscape where verticality predominates, this is a challenge that perfectly illustrates the theme of the Telethon this year, #alwaysmore!", They add.
The tightrope walker, during the 2017 edition of the Telethon in particular, walked on a wire stretched between the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero.
