The Swedish men's team Edin has - with varying composition - won six European Championships, four of which in a row between 2014 and 2017. 2018 became "just" silver, so now Niklas Edin's quartet also has revenge to claim.

"Then we won the World Cup instead, and I think we can get to the game just as well again, we have a good chance, but it will be even," says Niklas Edin about the chances in the home European Championship.

More than 100 matches

Over 400 curling players from all over Europe are gathered for more than a week of competitions with more than 100 matches in Helsingborg. The tournament starts on Saturday with a traditional group game, and there will be semi-finals and finals at the end of next week.

Not only team Hedin has great medal chances. On the women's side, team Hasselborg is reigning Olympic and European champion.

- We come from Canada where we won a Grand Slam tournament, so the form feels good and now it just has to get into the right time zone. It is a very good atmosphere in the team and it feels great to be here, says Swedish skipper Anna Hasselborg to SVT Sport.
