Swedish curling gentlemen in team Niklas Edin won by 9–2 after having an 8–1 lead already after four rounds and the Russians thanked themselves after six rounds.

- It was the Swedish men's match and they tied the grip early. There was no talk of the matter, says Confederate Captain Maria Prytz to the curling association.

- If they continue to play like this there is no one who can stop them, but it is important to continue to stay focused and play well even when the resistance is not so tough.

Tonight's match against Norway can be considerably tougher.

- I look forward to it, hope it will be a tough match where we stand as a winner, says Prytz.
