The Swedish prosecutor announced Tuesday, November 19, the abandonment of the prosecution for rape against Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks Australia accused by a woman of having assaulted Sweden in 2010.
"I called this press conference to announce my decision to dismiss the investigation [against Assange]," said Deputy Chief Prosecutor Eva-Marie Persson. "All investigative acts have been exhausted [...] without providing the evidence required for a conviction," she added.
Charges denied by the person concerned
Thirty years old at the time of the incident, in August 2010, the Swedish plaintiff accuses Julian Assange of having sex with her while she slept and without a condom, whereas this one had refused any unprotected report several times.

The founder of Wikileaks has always defended herself, denying the rape, and claiming that she was consenting and agreed not to use a condom.
