Many people sell their products on the Instagram or blog under the name of 'Who's Market'. The number of users is increasing, but there are also many complaints about refunds or exchanges. According to the Consumer Sources, only one of the 400 SNS markets was properly followed.

Kim bought clothes from an online company through Kakao Story in February and paid 30,000 won, but did not receive the goods.

I contacted the customer center several times, requesting a refund and posting a complaint, but the post was deleted and I couldn't reach the business.

[Kim Mo / SNS Market Transaction Victims: If some of these companies continue to do business like this, "I don't know, I'm hungry," I won't buy them. I can't trust it.]

As a result of surveying over 400 domestic and overseas SNS markets, Korea Consumer Resources has found that only one location complies with the regulations on refunds.

In the last three years, 169 cases of SNS market-related damages were received by consumer sources, with 40.2% of non-conformances including non-delivery of goods and 35.5% of refunds.

In addition, most of them only accept cash payments or induce cash payments.

[Chief Jae-Hee / Head of the Korea Consumer Affairs and Trade Research Team: We recommend voluntary correction for non-compliance operators, and we will prepare an effective monitoring plan with the Fair Trade Commission and SNS market platform providers.]

In addition, institutional supplementation to protect consumers is urgently needed as SNS is changing to the market beyond communication.
