15 November 2019The 21-year-old Russian Paralympic athlete Elizaveta Kunstman, who plays volleyball on a wheelchair, was scammed for 70,000 euros by an unscrupulous businessman.

The girl, who lost both legs at the age of 8, after being dragged under a train by a wire protruding from a car, asked for a loan of 5 million rubles (71,500 euros). She gave the entire sum to a certain Valerij Perevozcikov, who promised her special prostheses, but then disappeared from circulation.

The man was stopped by the Russian police, which is investigating 10 similar cases, always attributable to Valerij Perevozcikov, who allegedly carried out scams totaling 35 million rubles (about 500 thousand euros).

Elizaveta Kunstman was world champion in 2018 and champion of Europe in 2019, as well as champion of Russia for 8 times.
