Last Friday the municipality went out and advised against bathing in six of the lakes in Falkenberg. This after analyzes showed elevated levels of the bacteria E.coli and Intestinal enterococci.

Now new samples have been made, Halland News reports.

What the elevated values were due to is still unclear. Camilla Hamnemo, head of water and coastal unit in Falkenberg Municipality tells the newspaper that it was probably a coincidence. That it may have been Canadian geese that moved on that day, or that there was some technical error.

The lakes in question are:

  • Lyngsjön in Krogsered
  • Horsasjön in Älvsered
  • The heart red lake in the heart red
  • Fegensjön, Linjevik
  • Sjönevadssjön
  • Nyhagasjön

In Ljungsjön in Ljungby the water quality was also degraded, but there it is again free to swim.
