October 22, 2019The Florence prosecutor's office closed the investigation for fraudulent bankruptcy and the issue of false invoices in which Tiziano Renzi and Laura Bovoli, parents of former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, leader of Italia Viva, were investigated, along with entrepreneurs and administrators of cooperatives Delivery Service Italy, Europe Service and Marmodiv. At this point there may be a request for trial. For this investigation, which counts 19 suspects, Tiziano Renzi and Laura Bovoli were arrested last February and for a time they were under house arrest for having "disappeared any corporate documentation of the failed cooperatives" to hide the missed payment of taxes and invoices for non-existent operations.

Another strand of the investigation led to the conviction of the spouses on 7 October last, at one year and nine months, with conditional suspension of the sentence at the end of the trial that saw them accused of false invoices with the accused entrepreneur Luigi D'Agostini also of scam. For this high strand the defense has 20 days to present new documents before the process request.
