The accidents involving wild boar and deer deer are what stand out most, says PA Eriksson, who is the county manager in Östergötland for the National Wildlife Accident Council.

- It is animal strains that are increasing and which with mild winters give many surviving cult in the wild boar's case, he tells SVT Nyheter Öst.

The number of reported elk accidents, on the other hand, was fewer.

- There is a risk that the wildlife accidents will continue to increase, says PA Eriksson.

He calls for greater caution by motorists at dawn and dusk, but also more safer roads with game fencing to reduce the number of accidents if possible.

In Gotland, the number of wildlife accidents was largely unchanged; 678 deer accidents in 2018 compared to 671 accidents in 2019.
