05 August 2019 "In order to avoid chaos without rules, limits and laws, we must once again weigh all the possible dangerous consequences and start a serious dialogue without ambiguity". Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a statement after the end of the Inf treaty, urging the US to begin new talks on nuclear weapons. "We are ready for this," he added.

"If forced we will develop new missiles"
The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, warned that Moscow will be "forced" to develop new missiles, if the US does the same, after Washington's unilateral withdrawal from the Treaty on short and intermediate-range missiles (Inf), which in fact has one of the pillars of the arms control system.

"Russia will be forced to start the development of similar missiles", if it has information that the US has completed new systems, reads Putin's statement released by the Kremlin.

"With regard to the development, production and deployment of ground-based medium and short-range missiles, all our actions will be exclusively specular," said Putin, in a note published on the Kremlin website. "We will not deploy them until the Americans do," the Russian president assured.

"Armament race risk"
The actions of the United States, which led to the end of the Treaty on short and intermediate-range missiles (Inf) will lead to the "fragmentation of the whole structure of global security, including the Treaty on the reduction and limitation of strategic offensive weapons (New Start ) and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty ". Thus continues the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, who warns that "such a scenario involves the resumption of an unbridled arms race".
