Prime Minister Abe will leave Japan on the 4th to attend the International Economic Forum held in the Russian Far East. On the 5th, we are going to face a Japan-Russia summit with President Vladimir Putin, and the focus will be on how to overcome the situation while the Russian side does not lose its stance over the Northern Territories issue.

Prime Minister Abe is scheduled to visit Vladivostok in the Russian Far East for a period of 3 days from 4th to attend the "Eastern Economic Forum", which is attended by Russian and Asia-Pacific countries and companies. Depart from Haneda Airport on a government plane.

On the 5th, we will meet with Russia's President Vladimir Putin for the 27th Japan-Russia summit meeting, and we will exchange opinions on the peace treaty negotiations including the Northern Territories issue and the situation in North Korea.

Of these, the northern territory issue was agreed to promote negotiations at the last summit in June, but the Russian side became the territory of its own country as a result of World War II. I have not lost my strong attitude that the Japanese side should admit.

For this reason, the focus of this meeting will be on how to overcome the situation through the realization of joint economic activities in the northern islands.

Prime Minister Abe is also planning to meet with Prime Minister Modi of India who attends the forum and President Battorga of Mongolia, and hopes to confirm cooperation for denuclearization of North Korea and resolution of the abduction issue.
