The JDD publishes an unprecedented Ifop poll about the French's view of the incarnation of the left. Ségolène Royal is designated, by 43% of the people questioned, as the political personality who can represent the left.

According to a poll conducted by Ifop for the JDD about 11 politicians, 43% of respondents consider that the former Minister of the Environment under the chairmanship of François Hollande, Ségolène Royal, would embody the left "for good" . The former socialist candidate for the French presidency in 2007 is followed by the former national education officer and leader of the Mouvement Génération.s, Benoît Hamon (40%).

43% of respondents say that Emmanuel Macron embodies "very badly" the left

In third place: the leader of France insubordinate Jean-Luc Mélenchon (38%), tied with the former Minister of Justice under François Hollande, Christiane Taubira, and the former president himself.
