End of the run. A couple fleeing after abandoning their girl brain dead in hospital after a road accident Monday in Samer (Pas-de-Calais), was arrested Wednesday in Outreau and placed in police custody, suspected of to have stabbed a man, according to judicial sources.

The security forces arrested them, without rebelling, on public roads in Outreau "drunk", according to the prosecution of Boulogne-sur-Mer.

The couple, suspected of stabbing a former spouse of the mother, in Boulogne-sur-Mer Monday afternoon before the accident occurred, was placed in custody at 14h for "attempted d? assassination".

At the time of the accident, the 34-year-old mother was driving the car with her 35-year-old companion and three children on board, who entered the base of a railway bridge on Monday night around 8:00 pm Samer in the Pas-de-Calais.

Their 18-month-old daughter was heliported in a very serious condition at the CHU Lille, where she was brain dead Wednesday afternoon, said the prosecutor.

The parents in shock and their two children aged 3 and 4 years were admitted to the hospital of Boulogne. But the couple hurriedly left the property on the night of Monday to Tuesday. They were actively sought after.

The results of the blood tests carried out after the accident are not yet known, but the prosecutor's office is "almost certain" that they will prove to be positive for alcohol. According to the same source, the mother was sentenced in 2011 for armed robbery and was sentenced for narcotics use.

In the regional newspaper La Voix du Nord, the mother of the driver had urged the couple, from Carly, to surrender. The two children will be placed.
