During Wednesday evening, a heavy fire broke out in a room in Olofström where a daily business is held. No people were injured, but the building was so damaged by fire that it cannot be lived in.

- This is an important meeting place for the users and we must work on this in the long and short term. We are already planning to find another place to offer daily operations and work on the short-term perspective with individually tailored solutions, says Robert Schelin, Head of Operations Support, Olofström Municipality.

Ten users hit

The ten users who usually participate in the daily business may stay at home for the rest of the week due to the fire.

- Today and Friday there will be no business but next week some participants will have the business in existing premises. We want this event to affect the individual as little as possible and if we can make individual solutions in existing premises, we do that, says Robert Schelin.

Hope to find a new room

At the beginning of next week, the municipality will have a new meeting to discuss the local issue.

- We are hopeful that we will find some alternative but we will see how long it takes. If we find a local, it will also be prepared with tools and equipment so that it will be a little planning work, he says.

Seven people are working on the accommodation and they are now offered help from occupational health care if they need it.
