On July 31, a woman pretending to be a princess from the United Arab Emirates stole 1.6 million euros worth of jewelery from a Parisian jeweler

Jewelry valued at more than 1.6 million stolen from a Paris jeweler at the end of July by a woman who pretended to be a princess from the United Arab Emirates was found in Seine-Saint-Denis, learned AFP Friday police source.

"The jewels were found Thursday evening in a hotel room in Seine-Saint-Denis by the investigators of the brigade of repression of banditry" (BRB), said the police source. For now, no inquiry has taken place, according to this source. It is the analysis of video-cameras associated with an information work which allowed this discovery.

Jewelry replaced by "cubic broths"

On July 31, two women, one posing as a princess of the United Arab Emirates, are presented several pieces in a jewel in a luxury jewelry store in the rue Saint Honoré, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. During this presentation, they receive several phone calls, then ensure that they will make a transfer the next day to acquire these parts. In the meantime, the box is put back in the trunk.

It is only the next day that the jeweler, worried not to receive the promised transfer, realizes that the jewels have been replaced by what she first took for "chocolates". Eventually, the investigators discovered that they were "cubic broths". An investigation for "robbery" had been opened.
