Good news in the fight against the epidemics of HIV AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. In the wake of the G7, several states announced that they would increase their financial contribution. The latest example is Germany, which increases its endowment by 25%.

14 billion euros is the goal of the fundraising announced for the period 2020-2022. According to the Global Fund against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, this sum would be a great blow against these epidemics. To raise this money will be the objective of the fund reconstitution conference to be held in Lyon on October 10th. It looks pretty good. Several countries have announced they want to increase their contribution. The latest in Germany, 25% increase announces this Sunday of Angela Merkel.

All eyes are now turned to France, which has disappointed in the past. Khalil Elouardighi of Coalition PLUS, which brings together organizations fighting against AIDS , explains why France is expected at the turn: " France was the only country in the G7 that had not increased its financial contributions in the last round of in 2016. And that France has taken the responsibility to organize the 2019 financing round. We expect an increase. France must be the best-selling G7 to compensate for what happened in 2016. So at least, do at least as well as Germany with at least 25 % increase .

An increase of the same level as Germany would correspond to an additional 1.35 billion euros over the 2020-2022 period for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
