Sapporo Beer Wine more than 80,000 self-collection Cork may jump out August 6 14:12

Sapporo Beer has announced that it will voluntarily collect over 84,000 imported wines shipped to supermarkets nationwide. It is because cork may jump out of the yeast generated from the yeast remaining in the bottle and cause injury.

Voluntary collection of over 84,000 750 milliliters of white wine “Bellinger California Chardonnay 2017” produced at a factory in the United States and shipped to supermarkets around the country from August last year to the end of last month .

According to the company, as a result of conducting a product survey in response to an inquiry from a customer on the 29th of last month, it was confirmed that yeast remained in some bottles.
It means that there is no harm to the body, but because the carbon dioxide generated from yeast increases the pressure in the bottle and the cork pops out, there is a risk of injury, so we decided to voluntarily collect.

So far there have been no reports of injuries or health damage.
Sapporo Beer commented, “I apologize for the great inconvenience. I will do my best to prevent recurrence and improve quality.”

The phone number for inquiries is toll-free, 0120-447-739, which is accepted from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays, and is also available during consecutive holidays from 10 to 12 this month.
