One in two Spaniards believes that the parties have no ideas to reduce unemployment

Unemployment is a problem for which, more than one in two Spaniards, believes that political parties have no solutions. 58.7% of citizens think that no electoral program includes measures to stimulate job creation, according to the Adecco Group Institute, the study center of the Adecco temporary hiring group. The survey was conducted last week with a total of 1,216 individuals consulted.

The reality is that in the elections that will be held on November 10, unemployment is one of the main economic chapters of electoral programs alongside pensions. It cannot stop being it since, with a rate superior to 13%, Spain has the sad merit of leading the unemployment in the European Union next to Greece.

Young people up to 30 years and over 52 are the age groups most affected by a problem that has other edges such as training, coverage or precariousness of contracts. But, apparently, the parties do not transmit to the voters who contemplate it as the problem that generates the most concern or who have ideas to deal with it effectively.

Thus, only 12% claim to know the labor proposals of all parties that, without exception, focus the debate on ending, modifying or deepening the labor reform promulgated by the Government of Mariano Rajoy in 2012 to deal with the crisis.

The survey has been carried out to citizens both in their condition as workers and to businessmen or managers of human resources of large companies. For more than two thirds, the inability of political parties to agree when forming a government is a brake on job creation.

Women and those over 55 are the most critical groups with what they perceive as a lack of political focus on a real and widespread problem in society. In order of importance, the Spanish workers and unemployed would like the electoral programs to contain measures in the field of employment that guarantee conciliation and labor flexibility, measures for labor insertion and recycling of groups with difficulties and measures to fight against fraud in the job.

On the side of the companies, which consider that the parties lack feasible measures in their programs to create employment, better conditions for freelancers and entrepreneurs are a priority, measures to encourage the hiring of over 50 years and more active employment policies.
