Nigerian artist Augustine Miles Kelechi, better known as Tekno, was heard by Lagos police Wednesday (August 7th). He is accused of pitching tickets to lightly dressed dancers in the streets of Lagos. The singer, who is part of the cast of African artists chosen by the American singer Beyoncé for his latest album, was a little trapped by a situation that created confusion and buzz.

All viral videos published on social networks last weekend. We see singer Tekno seated, surrounded by four dancers in undress in a large glass box in the back of a van rolling in the streets of Lagos.

Onlookers then take the opportunity to take pictures and videos. The problem is that the footage shot is quickly spotted by the Nigerian police. On Wednesday, the 26-year-old singer had to explain himself at the station with two of his dancers. The police believe that the acts committed are public indecency and are punishable by three years imprisonment.

Mea culpa on Instagram

Tekno was quick to make his mea culpa on his Instagram account trying to explain the situation. The Nigerian artist was making a clip with his team for the launch of his next single. The fully glazed advertising vehicle was used to reach another location on the other side of the city.

As for the suggestive dance that took place in the same vehicle, Tekno apologizes for being able to shock or offend some people and ensures that it was not intentional.

Among the many reactions of Internet users, some regret the intervention of the police stressing that there are many other priorities at the moment in the news of Nigeria.
