To be reviewed in the direction of expanding the prepayment guarantee for paid nursing homes October 11, 17:29

In January, however, a nursing care company that had a wide range of retirement homes in the Tokyo metropolitan area went bankrupt, and the "prepayment" paid by about 400 users when they moved in was hardly returned. There is a guarantee system for industry groups to prepare for such cases, but the requirements were too strict and did not work, so the group and the country will review the system in the future to ease the requirements and expand the scope of the guarantee. It was.

At more than 2200 paid nursing homes nationwide, we have a plan that reduces the monthly burden after paying in advance for a certain period of rent in a lump sum.

This "prepayment" can sometimes exceed hundreds of millions of yen up to 100 million yen, and the "National Paid Nursing Home Association" has set up a system to pay a deposit of up to 5 million yen if it is not returned due to bankruptcy of the facility. It is.

However, in January, when “Future Design”, which had a wide range of paid nursing homes in the Tokyo metropolitan area, went bankrupt, 27 out of 28 facilities were not covered by the warranty.

Because the parent company took over the operation of the facility, the resident's life was protected because it did not meet the requirement that “all residents of the facility had to leave”. The damage caused by the prepayment of the person who made it increased.

For this reason, the association and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare are considered to be insufficient as a safety net for protecting users. It was decided to review the system in the direction of expansion.

The funding of the deposit is the contribution paid by the facility, and expanding the scope of the guarantee may affect the management of small and medium-sized care facilities and the fees paid by users. We will carefully consider whether the requirements should be relaxed.
