At the United Nations headquarters in New York, a foreign ministers' meeting aimed at the early entry into force of CTBT was held on the morning of the 26th of Japan time, and Foreign Minister Mogi pointed out the importance of the role of CTBT in the field of nuclear disarmament.

On top of that, “As Japan's only war-bombed country, Japan has vigorously worked on promoting nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation. I strongly hope that the combined efforts of the international community will promote the entry into force of CTBT.” And called for cooperation from countries that have not ratified it.

At the meeting, as a consensus of the participating countries, a declaration was adopted that included the call for ratification of the CTBT and the importance of complete denuclearization of North Korea.
