Paris Saint Germain coach Thomas Tokel has said that Brazilian star Neymar da Silva can play in Saturday's French league match against Strasbourg.

If Neymar is to play tomorrow's game will be his first with the team since last May, note that the past period has witnessed a huge debate about the departure of the player.

Neymar moved to St Germain in the summer of 2017 in exchange for payment of the penalty clause in his contract with Barcelona of 222 million euros.

PSG have a contract until June 30, 2022, but there has been considerable debate over the possibility of Neymar moving to another club or returning to Barcelona.

"I am very happy that the transfer window is over," Tokel said, noting that Neymar should understand the fans' anger given the past and his absence from the opening games.

Eyes at the Parc des Princes in Paris are eyeing the reaction of PSG fans when Neymar enters the field.

Neymar has angered the capital's fans for insisting on leaving, and over remarks he made a few weeks ago saying his best memory was a crushing 6-1 defeat by Barcelona in the Champions League two years ago.

PSG top the standings with nine points from four games and start their Champions League campaign with Real on Wednesday. Neymar will be suspended for a slander after he was sent off for the referees after his side were eliminated from the tournament last season.
