The COP25, a UN meeting to discuss global warming countermeasures, will begin a ministerial meeting on the 10th, and negotiations will begin in earnest regarding the rules necessary for the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

“COP25”, which has been held in Spain since the 2nd of this month with the participation of more than 190 countries and regions, will be held from the 10th by Ministers of Environment, including Ministers of the Environment.

At the meeting, negotiations will begin in earnest on the rules necessary for the implementation of the “Paris Agreement”, an international framework for global warming countermeasures that will begin next year.

The rules for calculating the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that could be reduced by technical assistance to other countries as the main reduction are the main issues, how to check the reduction amount, and what is reported to the United Nations. There are ongoing discussions about procedures, procedures, and methods to prevent double counting.

So far, developed countries have argued that reports and procedures should be strict to prevent double counting, while some developing countries are rebounding.

On the 9th, Mr. Koizumi said, “I want to do my best to negotiate because there are still issues to be solved when the Paris Agreement is fully operational from next year.”

“COP25” is focused on whether countries can agree by raising greenhouse gas reduction targets, and discussions will continue until 13th of this month.
