29 September 2019Three mini landings within a few hours in Lampedusa, where a total of 80 migrants have landed. Last night two small boats, each with 25 people on board, were intercepted not far from the island by the patrol boats of the harbor master's office and the finance guard.

All were accompanied to the island's hot spot reception center where there were only about fifteen non-EU citizens.

Another 30 Tunisians were stranded at dawn this morning in Cala Palme, after having managed to land directly on the beach with a small boat. They too were transferred to the hot spot where over a hundred migrants are now housed, a number greater than the maximum capacity of the structure.

After a few days of relative calm, with the improvement in weather conditions the "phantom landings" resumed with small boats, almost certainly put into the sea a few miles from the island by "mother ships".
