12 September 2019 Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte brings together in the Palazzo Chigi the ministers responsible for immigration: the Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese, the Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, the Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini and the Infrastructure Minister Paola De Micheli. According to government sources, the meeting was convened by Conte to get the new government's work on the issue of migrants alive.

Count: the plan for the South will integrate the pact with Europe
The government is working on "a structural revitalization plan for the South that will be an integral part of the 'Pact with Europe' that I proposed yesterday in Brussels". Giuseppe Conte explains this in a letter published in the 'Quotidiano del sud' in response to the "Manifesto per l'Italia" published yesterday by the same newspaper and which the premier is relaunching in a post on Facebook

"Autonomy reform will not cancel cohesion"
"The reforming action of the Government, starting from the projects of differentiated autonomy, aims to promote and recognize, respecting the Constitution, the legitimate claims of the territories, without losing sight of the objectives of cohesion and national solidarity", he also writes the premier in the 'Quotidiano del Sud'. "Our perspective aims to contrast the gap between North and South, the logic of contrast between areas of a country that runs at different speeds. We work so that our children do not know an Italy of Serie A and one of Serie B. We work, on the contrary, for a country that, compactly, must put in place all the tools to overcome its challenges in the changing international context ".
