- Obviously it can be a small advantage to know the course well, you know about every little shot.

The elite runs two laps

The course is 15 kilometers long and is located near Lekeryd, with start and finish at Lake Uddebos. The idea is that the SM in the tempo race will be run on the track outside Lekeryd for at least the next five years. The world tour cyclist and the reigning Swedish champion of pace Tobias Ludvigsson, along with his brother Fredrik, helped to create the track.

On Wednesday, August 14, the elite competes on the ladies' side and on Saturday, August 17, JSM, USM, MSM and Para-SM are run. Elite, junior and master run two laps on the course, the other classes one lap.

Shown on big screen in Jönköping

The competition will be televised and shown on big screen screens at Lillsjöplan at Munksjön in central Jönköping. Then the Cycling Day in Jönköping will also be organized and there will be plenty of different activities where visitors can test different types of cycling.

On the part of the bicycle association, you want to continue to invest in more competitions in Jönköping in the future, not just the SM in the tempo race.

- We had the mountain bike European Championship here in 2016 and we hope that more international competitions in the area will be arranged in the long term, says Stefhan Klang, Chairman of the Board of the Swedish Bicycle Association.
