Admire a Picasso at home: this dream will become reality for the winner of an international charity lottery for which will be sold 200,000 tickets to 100 euros to win a work of the Spanish master.
A work estimated at one million euros
The table, valued at 1 million euros, is entitled Nature morte . Directed in 1921, it is a geometric composition in which a piece of newspaper and a glass of absinthe appear. With the lottery, organizers hope to raise 20 million euros. One million will be paid to the owner of the painting, the collector David Nahmad, and the rest will be used to finance a project of the NGO Care in Africa.
An already tested concept
In 2013, the organizers of this lottery had already tested the concept and managed to raise $ 5 million to renovate the Lebanese city of Tire. "The usual art is associated with volunteering at gala dinners where works of art are auctioned, and this remains open only to people who are seated at this dinner and who can afford it," commented on Tuesday. Picasso Museum of Paris Péri Cochin, the promoter of this initiative. With this lottery, "100 euros is a significant sum but there are many people who can put 100 euros," he added.

Still life is a painting made at a time when the artist "synthesized currents realistic and cubist", told AFP Laurent Le Bon, the director of the museum Picasso, where is currently on display. According to him, "it is a work that makes you think and dream".
