OM have recorded a fifth consecutive win in Angers (2-0) and consolidated their second place while Lyon, beaten by Lille (1-0), has once again disappointed.

Marseille never stops winning! OM went on to win a fifth league title victory on Tuesday night on Angers' pitch (2-0), on Matchday 16 of Ligue 1. Morgan Sanson opened the scoring (14th), while Dimitri Payet confirmed his great form by scoring the second goal on penalty (41). With this new success, the men of Andre Villas-Boas consolidate their second place (31 pts) and return temporarily to two lengths of the PSG (33 pts), which is however two games less.

On the other hand, former OM coach Rudi Garcia had a difficult night on the OL bench. Lyon, who remained on two victories in the league, relapsed against Lille (1-0). Jonathan Ikoné scored the only goal of the game, a (lucky) strike by tackling (68th). The Lyonnais, again very disappointing in the game, are now 8th (22 pts), four points from Bordeaux, third. The LOSC, for its part, temporarily passes 4th, to a unit of the podium.

Cartons of Bordeaux and Brest

Like OM, Bordeaux is currently in great shape. The Girondins crushed Nîmes (6-0), thanks to a hat-trick of English striker Josh Maja and a brace from Brazilian midfielder Otavio. The evening was however contrasted for the Bordelais. The match was interrupted about twenty minutes after the entry on the lawn of several tens of ultras club, currently in open conflict with the management. Despite this heavy atmosphere, Bordeaux is temporarily on the podium (26 pts).

Brest also made an offensive festival against Strasbourg (5-0), an important success in the fight for the maintenance. The Brestois, worn by a hat-trick of their midfielder Cristian Battochio, took the opportunity to move to 12th place (21 pts), in front of their opponents in the evening (15th, 18 pts).
