Koichi Tanaka “I'm happy to be running the most advanced in the world” October 9th, 20:57

Mr. Koichi Tanaka, Senior Fellow, Shimadzu Corporation, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2002, made the following comments regarding the fact that Mr. Yoshino was chosen for the Chemical Award of the Year.

“Congratulations. As a researcher / engineer, I am very happy that Mr. Yoshino, who is an honorary fellow of Asahi Kasei, won the award. If you think about it, it seems that there are many parts that overlap with my background since the 1980s. People thought about application and spread it to the world, which is contrary to the division of roles that has been regarded as common sense in Japan so far. In the past, Japan often used finished products around the world, but research and development on not only lithium-ion secondary batteries but also various materials has been conducted. I am glad that we are at the forefront of the world, and Shimadzu has also cooperated with the development and analysis of lithium-ion secondary batteries using various analytical instruments. I would like to contribute to science and technology in Japan as a very good opportunity to receive the award. "
