In her latest film, Official Secrets, Keira Knightley plays a British government employee fired because she leaked a secret US memo before the Iraq war began in 2003.

The 34-year-old actress embodies Catherine Gunn, a former interpreter at a British international spy agency accused of violating the Official Secrets Act by leaking a US memo asking Washington to help London spy on the United Nations.

"Many people will disagree with the idea that what Catherine did is right, and many will see what Catherine did," Knightley said. What will no doubt be her courage. "The idea of someone having a moral reaction to an issue that puts everything at stake ... to do what he thinks is right to save people's lives."

Knightley believes that what will attract people to watch the film are the questions he poses. "Government accountability and the legitimacy of the conflict, and can these conflicts be illegal, and who will be held accountable?"

The film will be released in the United States on August 30 and then in Britain on October 18.
