The injured Erik Karlsson stayed in the middle of the third period last night. He snuck up from his back position when he got a pass from Kevin Labanc and was then able to score his first goal since December 29 last year. Karlsson missed much of the spring due to injury.

The goal meant at least one point for San José, when the match went to extension. But it was Jack Eichel who decided for Buffalo with his second goal of the match. In addition, Eichel had an assist to Buffalo's 2-2 goals in the second period.

Both Rasmus Dahlin and Victor Olofsson each stood for Buffalo, who is currently the NHL's best team, having only lost three points in ten matches.
