Haiti: authorities maintain carnival despite fire damage

In Haiti, the distrust of part of the population towards the authorities took on a whole new scale at the start of this week. In Port-au-Prince, Carnival stands were set on fire Monday evening while a police demonstration was taking place. The resigning Prime Minister speaks of barbaric acts and makes the link with "the indiscriminate violence of extremists and terrorists". Michel Lapin assured that the festivities would take place as planned from Sunday. With Amélie Baron, our correspondent in Port-au-Prince.
