Today (25th) at about 1:30 am, a fire broke out in an animal and plant experience center in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do.

No one was injured in the early morning hours, but more than 2,500 birds and 30 reptiles were killed.

More than 200 banana trees and 50 oats were burned.

The fire burned about half of the experi- ence hall and was extinguished in about an hour and twenty minutes after an estimated 230 million won in property damage.

The Fire and Plant Experience Center is known for being home to exotic animals and plants such as parrots and various animals, including bananas and pine trees, including international endangered species.

Police and fire departments believe that fires were caused by electrical factors, and they determine the exact cause of the fire.
