Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim said his country rejected Israel's participation in any military force to secure the passage of ships in the Arabian Gulf.

He stressed - in a tweet on his page on Twitter - that the Gulf states combined able to secure the passage of ships in the Gulf, stressing that Iraq seeks to reduce tension in the region through negotiations.

The minister said in his tweet that the presence of Western forces in the region will increase tension.

Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz said last week they would take part in the naval force that the United States is seeking to establish to secure shipping in the Gulf amid rising tensions with Iran.

"Israel is part of the US-led coalition to protect trade routes in the Gulf," Katz said.

On the other hand, Tehran considered that the participation of Israel in a coalition sponsored by Washington in the Gulf waters an explicit threat to Iran's national security, stressing that it would deal strongly with any Israeli presence in the Gulf waters within its deterrent and defensive policies.
