More than a month after the beginning of anti-government protests in October, clashes between police and protesters in Iraq have once again begun. According to Agence-Presse, the violence follows an agreement reached by Iraqi clerics and politicians in the presence of Iran.

According to AFP, the violence of the last hours follows an agreement reached between Iraqi clerics and politicians, who now wish to put an end to the dispute . The agreement is revealed to the news agency by senior Iraqi officials on condition of anonymity.

There were several secret meetings around three strong men. The very versatile Iraqi political leader Moqtada al-Sadr , the son of Ayatollah Ali al-Sisitani , the country's highest Shiite authority, and finally the Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's military operations abroad 'Iran.

Stranglehold of Tehran

Like what the fears of the demonstrators, who denounce the stranglehold of Tehran on their country, are justified. Iran does not intend to give up its political and economic interests in Iraq.
