Poland: 75 years of Warsaw uprising

On August 1, Poland commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. On August 1, 1944, and for two months, 50,000 Polish take up arms against the Nazi occupier. Their resistance is crushed by the Third Reich, which takes revenge by bombing and destroying almost all of Warsaw. 75 years later, the Kotwica, one of the emblems of this revolt, is the subject of multiple recoveries. Indeed, tens of thousands of T-shirts, cups, scarves are sold to his effigy. Above all, many nationalists brandish this symbol, much to the chagrin of the survivors of the uprising met by Thomas Giraudeau in Warsaw.
